Dwight L. MacPherson was born in 1970 in Traverse City, Michigan . His father was a Minister, and he grew up traveling around Michigan and finally settling in Palmetto, Florida .
At a young age, Dwight was fascinated with books and reading. At the age of 9, he finished Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and was immensely fascinated with pirates. As he got older, Dwight began to read every book he could get his hands on--reading the likes of The Iliad, the Odyssey, the Aeneid, Beowulf, the works of Washington Irving, Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft--and any books on mythology that he could find. This stimulated an already over-active imagination, and Dwight began drawing and writing plays that he and his sisters and cousins would act out in their garages on Saturday mornings.
A single father, Dwight devotes most of his time to his three sons: Clayton, Duncan and Logan. He is currently attending East Tennessee State University where he is working toward his BA in English Education.
An avid comic book collector since the 1980s, Dwight decided to try his hand in the comic book market in January of 2003, when he sat down to write the synopsis for a pirate horror comic book entitled DEAD MEN Tell No Tales. In January of 2004, Dwight's dream became reality when he signed a contract with Arcana Studio. DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES completely sold-out from the publisher, making this hit mini-series quite the collector’s item. Dwight is currently creating/writing THE SURREAL ADVENTURES OF EDGAR ALLAN POO…which is being published by Shadowline and Image Comics…and in 2008 will be writing a series for the new Chimaera Hero Universe line.
